I have a Micro Advantage DVD burner that I got for xmas, every time I put a blank DVD in there it doesn't register (meaning it won't even open up roxio or nero or any other burning software). I can't access the blank media via drag and drop using windows explorer either. When I try and burn using Nero I get an incompatible media message.

What I've tried is updating the firmware drivers, using different media from a different manufacturer, using different formats of media (+ and -) and it still doesn't want to work.

Any suggestions?

so it shows up in My Computer but you cant do anything with it? i assume youre using xp? try going into the bios and checking that its being recognized as the right kind of drive.

I bought a internal for 90 plus a 50 dollar rebate 16x .... good burner works everytime, very easy to install. Could it be the DVDs your using?
