Being not a huge computer nerd, I have little knowledge of processors.  I know there are some computer guys on here.  I would like to know if I should go with AMD x2 or Intel duo core chipset.</p>

<p dir="auto">Invest in the most amount of ram you can afford, especially with vista.</p>

Little more spendy than the AMD but overall they are great.  Check into <a href="http://Cnet.com" rel="nofollow ugc">Cnet.com</a> for reviews on specific computers and parts if you really want great info.</p>

Intel used to run pretty cool compared to AMD.</p>

<p dir="auto">AMD -&gt; gamers usually like them, cheaper, overall good performance<br />
Intel -&gt; great processors but spendy only downside is they run hot</p>
