Next year though, it's on. I'm very interested to see what the Ninja 500 can do compared to some of the bigger bikes.

On the "Try" page, they list Ma's Cycles in West Fargo as having coupons available for a free "Try the track" program. The full track day is $150.
Here's the info on the June date at BIR (track photo here too): http://trackaddix.com/track/events/?pview=TRA-126-2007-06-18-BIR-TD
Track Day info can be found here: http://www.trackaddix.com/track/briefing/
If you don't have track experience, they require you sign up for their school, which adds a little extra cost to the day, but gives you classroom time and track time.

For try the track, at the very least, it's a nice ride up to Brainerd and the TrackAddix guys will fill you in on the the whole track day thing without you needing to invest in all the gear if you don't have what's required for the real track day event. I'm sure you can hang out and watch too, which can be fun. Hang out on the bridge right when you get into the track and watch/listen to the bikes as they come out of turn 9 and hammer the throttle to get down the back straight.

Check out http://www.momentumphoto.net/events/trackaddix/index.html for photos from past events. The photographer does an awsome job.

Anyway, I've babbled enough. I got hooked a few years ago and look forward to doing some more this year. Poke around the trackaddix site for all the info. It's probably the most fun you'll have on 2 wheels and I know after my first track day, I felt MUCH better on my bike when riding on the street. The downside is that riding on the street becomes a bit boring after riding on the track. Interstate speeds feel rather slow.
