<![CDATA[Verizon Wireless Broadband Access]]>Does anyone in the area have Verizon Wireless Broadband Access? I live about 15 miles east of Detroit Lakes and don’t have a service provider that offers broadband internet. Obviously I can get WildBlue (satellite internet), but it would take me over 2 years to break even when comparing it to Verizon’s $60/month vs. WildBlue’s $50/month, plus $300 for equipment.

So, does anyone in the area have Verizon Wireless Broadband Access? If so, have you used it in the Detroit Lakes area? I don’t want to go sign a new 2 year agreement with Verizon only to bring it home and find out it doesn’t work at my house. Hopefully I can set up a trial with Verizon so I can ensure proper function before getting locked up in the contract.

Did a speed test and got 750k/sec down to my phone. 🙂

verizon just sucks 🙂

if your still looking for internet service in the DL area....just go to alltel and get a air card...it about the same speed as DSL and works anywhere your cell phone works.. ...cost $60 a month though.

well that's what I was told at Cell Comm today.. sometime in October. 'Supposedly' they've been testing things and that's why I see EV sometimes (and the Razr2 I was looking at was bouncing between EV and 1x).

If so, I'm going to be half tempted to look at a smart phone of some sort instead...

I've been getting EV in Fargo most of the time now, but I also have managed to switch to EV back home where a year ago I hardly got any reception.
