<![CDATA[Well, my favorite teacher ever died today.(Mr. Gigstad)]]>Just heard it on the radio. Died unexpectedly today, we had no school today due to conferences but this seriously sucks.

He taught US Gov't at Moorhead High, im sure a lot of the Moorhead grads on here knew him and how awesome of a guy he was.

Seriously this is all just a shock now......He was big into cars too, had a couple early generation RX-7's, and a WRX wagon that he'd go up to Devils Lake and ice race on the lake.

Damn this is terrible news.......:(:(:(:(

Gigstad had, without a doubt, one of the best attitudes towards teaching and life in general.I had him for government and mentorship. He was a big inspiration to me and was one of the reasons I chose the major that I did. He had blue s4 FC out at the fargodome auto x 2 years ago if anyone can remember that...

"You'll know its my last day teaching when I come in with a cigarette in my mouth, a coke in one hand and a bottle of jack in the other"

He owned a mig, tig and arc welder, a plasma cutter and a whole bunch of other fab tools and used them on a regular basis.

He will be greatly missed and can never be replaced.

We didn't know of a heart problem. He went in last Friday. He had two surgeries this weekend for clots in his leg. The heart attack was a total shock.

Gigstad in the past, didnt come out this year, was a Auto-xer with his rx-7s. To my last knowlegde he had 3 FC's. When talking to him outside of class he always was trying to learn differant stuff about cars( we had long discussions on my project, the 240, and turbos.......)
