The 3yr 360 warranty ONLY covers RROD failures, not other stuff.

There's an article online suggesting how you can be sure you're getting a newer revision part with a die shrink and new heat sink.

I'm still on my first 360 and haven't had any RROD problems, but i was getting error 68/69 (hard drive failure). It would cause the box to occasionally not boot but no problems playing/saving games and content.

I'm currently doing this now. I sent my first one in, got a brand new one in like 2 weeks only for it to have the ring of death so I called them back and sent it back so now I'm currently waiting for ANOTHER one.
