Major violations can stay on your record for insurance purposes for 5-7 years (Accidents, Exhibition Driving, stuff like that) whereas minor violations (speeding, stop sign, etc.) stay on for 3 years.

Minors and stuff like that which were recieved prior to turning 18 "disappear" when you turn 18. Just because they disappear doesn't mean people can't find out about them though.

Insurance and Police can look back to before you were 18. Something may go off your driving record, but Police can still go back and look at stuff that "isn't" on it anymore. Like going to Canada if you have gotten a DUI, my neighbors have some family from Canada that couldn't come for x-mas cause the one had got a DUI 20 years ago and they got turned around at the border.

Most insurance companies go back that far as well. Some go back 5 years though. There again... it depends on the offense.

Age does NOT change your record.
