<![CDATA[Wireless help]]>My room mate just got cable internet with wireless so I went to Best Buy and bought a Belkin N1 MIMO USB card for my computer. It installed with a few hang ups but I eventually got it installed and working. The Only problem now is that it says it's connected and it shows it's sending and receiving packets but I can't access the internet, I don't know what the hell is wrong with it, I paid $100 for a damn thing. I thinking about taking it back to Best Buy and getting the Lyksis one instead and give that one a try. It's really irritating, I was really looking forward to surfing a web again doing a little online gaming after not having internet for the last few months, especially since my room mates girlfriend paid to get it hooked up and is making the monthly payments:icon_cheers:.

that is an issue with his card.

try with a different computer to connect to the internet and see if it works. if it does, there ya go.

my recommendation is to call someone you know that uses wifi and have them give you a hand (if you're unable to solve the problem)

link, stop spreading false information. unless you have used the belkin adapter, you cannot say anything is better. additionally, you aren't specific about which linksys is better... there are how many different linksys wifi adapters? besides, if he doesn't have anything giving off a wireless signal, it won't matter what adapter he uses.

It probably is.. but thats another thing to check.

If that doesn't work.. try reinstalling the card.

If that doesn't work.. don't waste your time and get the linksys card. It's better anyway 😛

if you don't have knowledge/experience/understanding regarding the problem, don't start spreading fud over everything.

There is probably some shit that fucked up with that brand of wireless router. Your best bet is to return the peice of shit and buy a linksys.

We were thinking that the install disc might be corrupted or just plain shitty. I'll probably just return it and give the Lynksis a try, I've never had any problems with there other products where as with the Belkin one, I've never used any of there computer products before, plus the Lynksis was $20 cheaper. 😄
