<![CDATA[Break in during snowstorm]]>During the snow storm friday night/saturday morning my 93 grand prix was broken into i wish i had an alarm and pretty much destroyed. my trunk (lock pried out and crowbarred underneath the release) trying to get in (didnt get the l7 even by trying through the backseat guess it was too big) stole both my amps and cd player along with every cd i owned by breaking into my driver door window(after the passenger door was attempted to be opened by crowbar and my driver door lock drilled through. if anyone sees someone selling an ma audio amp hk1000d, or an alpine cde9870, or a rockford fosgate p2002 please let me know i want the fuckers to pay for the shit they broke I could care less what they stole why destroy my car? in front of my fucking house? i hope you cut your self real bad with all the blood on my car

What else is there to do other than take a report? A smash and grab theft isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. By remove the temptation I mean don't leave a ton of CDs, use an alarm, lock the doors, don't leave valuables, etc.

Who does the responsibility fall on? Am I to believe that the police should do laps around my house to make sure that nobody breaks in even though I leave the doors open, blinds open and advertise what is inside?

If a thief sees a vehicle with a really loud stereo, they may fallow it to figure our where they live to come back in the future.

It may even be someone you know. Cause they would know where it is, what is there and what you have for security measures.

You'd be surprised how much merchandise is found when cops do search warrants in town. Granted, not as much as we'd all like, but people do get their stuff back. Just make sure to write down serial numbers, makes, and models when you buy expensive equipment like that. Those things are what get items back to their rightful owners should they be found during warrants or other searches. They were able to get back a stack of CD's when my car got hit a few years ago. Granted, I didn't get my equipment back, but I got about 50 CD's, which was more than I expected.
