<![CDATA[Help me pick out a car, Fargostreet]]>Alright, I am looking for a 4 door sedan, something somewhat cheap, just using the thing as a commuter. I know nothing about this market. Here is kind of what I have been looking at:

Subaru Impreza, Legacy/Outback
Honda Accord
Toyota Camry
Nissan Sentra
etc

All of these would be mid to late 90s vintage. Any other suggestions? I do not want a wagon (unless it's a decent Subaru). And any suggestions on what I should look at while inspecting these cars?

I know a Jetta would be another option, but I've already had those in the past and want something different.

The car cannot be a two door, I'll be hauling my Malamute around once in a while. Getting him in a coupe = fail.

I came across a 98 Camry, black, 98,000miles, 4door, lleather interior, moonroof, cd player, tint. I took it for a drive. Runs good n drives smooth. He wants $900 cuz it's been sitting there for a month or so. All that's wrong with it is the passenger side headlight needs to be replaced cuz its smashed. But toher than that, it's a great car.

But I dont really know If you would be able to find one for a couple grand. You would probably have to spend more. You could go to subaru and lease one. 199 month for impreza and I think legacy too. With no money down. 225 for a wrx i think. I know there are some small dealerships in moorhead that has a few outbacks in the 4k range.

Any more than that and I'd rather just keep driving the Jeep. So, the cheaper the better.

Again, I'm kind of a sucker for the Subarus lately. I'm afraid to go look at them because I could see myself dropping a bit more on one of those.

It will have higher mileage. Make sure the timing belt was changed. They are a bitch and cost about 450 to be done at the dealership. Other than that you will have nothing to worry about picking an older subaru.

Whats your budget? That would help us a lot more.

Camry is reliable and fairly economical; Impreza/Legacy/Outback are great for the snow; Sentra wouldn't be too bad I suppose, and the Accord is a Honda (but still reliable/easy to fix)

But all of those are good cars, just personal preference really.
