On the non HO motors the TB is very small. The HO motors are a little bit bigger though.

According to EPA, however real world driving by car and driver suggests that they are about on par with each other, which makes sense since Ford uses a Toyota designed EV system.

I'm not ripping the Fusion just pointing out that real world and EPA don't always jive.

I think they are doing a decent job at staying ahead or at least on the curve as far as increasing mileage in their vehicles. People who are buying trucks and mustang's don't want gas sippers, they want performance. At the same time you can still buy V6 versions of both...I know my dad gets better mileage in the 5.4 than he did in the 4.6 though.

IIRC the F150 was still one of the top selling vehicles last year? I might be wrong...

All in all I think Ford knows what they are doing, somewhat. They are far better off than GM or Chrylser right now, which isn't saying much as it sounds like GM still might be going belly up by March 31st even with their bailout money.

Too bad they can't make a car thats what the consumer wants. That goes for more American companies. Sure they have great gas mileage now, 20 years later, but the cars are still so damn horrible. Seriously, a Focus? I'd rather drive a 92 civic than a brand new focus...not to mention the Civic will be worth more as soon as that Focus drives off the lot..

Anyway, back to the motor...is this one going to crack in half again?
