I went to hook it up today and it is frozen. It worked fine when I took it out of the car 2 months ago and its just been sitting in the house in the box since. Is it common for these to freeze like that? Or what would have caused that to happen? If anyone could help that would be great.

It's rare, but it can happen...maybe rust around the coil from the ferrite magnet? It shouldn't happen, but it does some times.

is it under warranty? if so, send it in...if you ordered it online, you are probably screwed though.
