And out of the work van, my companies GPS is gone.... Seriously wtf? Funny thing is i know who did it... and the video has been turned over to the authorities. Gotta love neighbors with security cameras. Needless to say. I think all of you have an idea on who it is also as it is a person who has been steeling a lot of shit lately. It just pisses me off, my helmet isnt worth shit, but i needed it for this afternoon to go riding. fuckers!! Lock your shit up and make sure its parked where you can hear it!!!

Should I have to lock my car? No. Does it help prevent thefts? Depends what they are after. If they want your CD player, they are just going to break the window and take it. I've had it happen twice.

Holden (and everyone else who has had stuff stolen) has the right to be pissed regardless of whether the vehicle was locked or unlocked.

But it does reduce the risk exponentially....and given the frequency that I see thief threads on this forum, I think it is very fair to say that you are just making things too easy for the thief if you don't as obviously there are plenty of them out there.

I'm sure most of the time they'll take something worth a little less if it's easier to get and the fact it's a little less likely to get caught (just opening a door opposed to breaking in a window)
