It's a red 1990 Honda CRX HF with 158,000 Body miles and a rebuilt motor with ? amt. of mileage... I test drove her last night and my first impressions were def. go-kart The guy is trying to sell it for 1500 and i talked him done to 1000 firm... The body is in exceptional condition minus very minor rusting on the rear fenders and a lil' on the doors... there are a few dings in her and maybe one dent on the hatch... other then that the transmission shifts great other than grinding into 1st gear... The clutch feels basically brand new as well... But I was wondering what your all opinions on it is... Does anyone on this site have a crx and can you tell me what mod's you have... I know that the enigine is the first thing that's going in that car, because i will go crazy if i can't get it to move. I am buying this car so i can use it mainly as a beater for delivery's... But then again i want to build it to be at least a 13 sec. car. I am planning on fixing the rust and painting her either a primered look or a black... I have researched on them for over 6 hours since last night and i am rather in ? on what swap to go with... I was thinking a d16 with a junk yard turbo set up which could get me into the 13's on slicks... but then again i want more... I don't know help me out

thanks,

yeah his car is pretty beat up, but the only other good part is you would get another motor with it to rebuild or build up to put in there too.

you could also do a b16. that should put you close to your goal with a 160 hp just with the engine. they are actually reasonably priced also. the d16 is gonna be your cheapest option, but everyone and their mom has been wanting to do d16 turbo and b16 swaps lately. i was just suggesting something that would be different. there are only a handful of people that have done the k20 in the crx.

Given that turbo + honda = no good theory... the d16 will actually handle alright i think... It has low compression and people have ran 8 psi safely on them with no major problems... Plus there is really no engine management needed to do this. but i do respect what your saying and i have thought about it as well. I am almost done modding the wrx and i wanted to get onto another project. But for the winters up here i will be using the scooby and for the occasional drive i will be using her as well... no need to put soo many miles on her for just driving around town. hell everybody up here doesn't give a fuck what you really drive anyways. But gsx guy were you being serious or joking? i know either way it wouldn't matter but still.

As we all know honda's are pretty damn reliable. However, turbo'ing a D16 isn't the most reliable thing to do.

CRX's will fly with a turbo kit, just becuase of the fact that they are so light. 13's are very attainable even on a fairly small setup.

Honda D16's are very very cheap I remember when I was looking for them, there were tranny + motor for $450 shipped or less....

However, to buy the supporting mods for it, you're prob going to be spending as much as the car for the turbo setup, or more to do it right. You've got a sweet WRX, maybe just use this one as a car you can depend on driving? That'd be my opinion anyway.
