MDF always works well, I dont intend on converting to birch yet....

The cheap ass amp he had was sitting on the back seat with wires strewn all over the place, and I mean... Everywhere. The real kicker though was the sub enclosure. The guy had hollowed out a birch tree log and nailed plywood on each end. No ports, but he cut 3 square holes about 2x3" each to run the wires in and out of on the side of the log. Kind of a homemade bazooka tube... HICK STYLE!
