The acceptable factory-trim E.T.s are 15.4-5 for the 1st-gen and 15.6-8 for the 2nd-gen. With so many GTs with questionable maintenance histories and variances in driver ability, at the track it's anyone's guess which generation would be faster. Assuming engine modifications are in place, the 1st-gen GT should see 14's easily. However, it's not been very common over the past 6 years I've been in the Probe scene for 1st-gens to break 14.0 seconds. The F2T is not a heavy breather. The nod goes to the much more technologically advanced 2.5 V6 KLDE engine for that.</p>
