If you love playing the UT2004 in Onslaught mode (the one with the vehicles and control points to capture) you will love this game. Up to 64 players at a time. Oh yeah, and get ready to be killed.....ALOT. Game is sweet and if you have a pretty fast computer it looks awesome. Extremely fun squad based game. You can run around by yourself but easy pickens might as well be your screen name.

Heres the google search link for Battle Field 2, you can check out the screen shots, info on the game, and other stuff if you haven't seen or read about the game already.

it's a free game that was scrapped because there was a problem with the ai (apparently). anyway, there are lots of servers available online with several mods.
i think it's way more enjoyable than bf2/1942 or call of duty. it's not so much fun when you keep getting taken down by a sniper every few seconds (bf and 1-2 hit kills), and enemy territory allows your character to take more hits before going down, so you have a chance to respond to being attacked. not only that, but my biggest argument is the lack of creativity in bf. yay, capture the flag... map after map after map...
don't misconstrue, the bf games have some neat stuff going for them, but enemy territory still takes the cake

athlon 3500, 90nm - 180
asrock agp/pci-e mb - 74
1gb 2.5 latency pc3200 - 89
antec case and 350watt psu - 70
6600gt pci-e - 120
dvd-rw - free after installing some hardware for someone
total - 533
going to keep laughing?
i know this isn't a 500 machine, but i decided to build another 939 machine just in case i keep this one long enough to upgrade to a dual core in the future. best part about this one? it cost me nothing. i sold my old socket939 3000+ machine to upgrade to something with pci-e and a faster cpu. the socket 462 barton core xp cpu will play any game on the market, and will do it for far less than the 64bit cpu's, so i could have saved about $100 by using an older chip.

why didn't i buy a 7800gtx? why should i? the 6600gt is the best card on the market when it comes to excellent performance at a good price.
once again, we come to the point where i show you that i set a goal and had a budget in mind for how much i wanted to spend, so i stuck to it. if i really wanted to build a pc to mop up yours, i could, but i would just be that much more pissed off in 6 months when i could buy everything all over again for half the price.

you just keep thinking you're on top of the world because you paid top dollar... some of us realize that the human eye can't discern any significant difference between 60fps and 100

People think there smart when they got A+.......you can get it out of a cracker jack box now.
1 - Ok first off, WHICH generation of athlons, slot, socket base, Prescott core Intel Pentiums etc. IN general the Athlons run less core voltage then that of the Intel brethern. However Palomino cores (because of a long pipe line branch predicting tree, FAS support and 1.7 core voltage) did run less then that of even the barton cores.
2- Synchro Dynamic Random Access Memory
3- - Another stupid question.
4- Integrated Disk Electronics, or in current generation (exception of SATA standrard) EIDE - platform introduced by IBM to eliminate the bottlenecks of the constricted ISA bus that was originally used for devices such as Hard Drives, Optical Drives etc.
5- See above
6 - Cathode Ray Tube
7 - Base 2 Mathetmatic system that all computers are based of, in contrast to our base 10 math of numbers 0-9, Binary utilizes a base 2 mathematic scale of 0 and 1, along with the conjunction of standard IEEE form programming standard AND IF OR BUT NOR, etc.
would you laugh if you read: "there are 10 kinds of people in this world, those
well lets figure it out, pretty easy to do binary, understand once again it is a base 2 system that factors down, so each number with a designated "1" would represent that value, in orders like so....also mind you that this is a factoring scale, remember to right to left not the traditional left to right.
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024, and therefore
and in your very old lame joke 10 would = in binary language = 0+2 = 2.
7 - Internet Protocol
8 - A "smart switch" that has the ability to direct and designate packets over a TCP/IP network - also with the capability of packet collision detection. Able to utilize varying LAN IP's to designate 1 WAN IP.
9 - Directs traffic LAN only - with packet collision technique, able to be "smart" enough to direct which pakcets should go where using redundancy techniques.
10 - same thing as switch, except sends packets out to each unit simutaneously.,
11 - Physical Network address of your NIC. Alpha numeric address designating the location of your NIC in the particular LAN network.
12 - And should I tell you? IPConfig/all for the win
13 - I have a better question, tell me when TRUE MS-Dos was introduced?
14 - Red Hat, Fedora, Unix, shall I go on?
You have to be a genius to get your CCNA/A+ don't you now a days?

back to the matter at hand: tell me what your pc has to offer and we'll compare

so what league are you in? open/invite/main? you dont have to be good to be in cal. in fact, most people really arent. ive personally been on public server scrim teams that have completely DESTROYED cal teams in quake 3 and ET.
i was in cal main theres no cal-i in cod uo.
tjamz im sure theres some guy out there with dual 7800gtx's fx 57 processor and like 4 gigs ram that could run it to its max.
out there i would come if u guys played games i play, i play little bf2 never played bf19whatever.
once u play one a really good computer youll understand why spending 2000 dollers on a computer is worth your time and money. once u spend 60+ hours a week online playing games youll understand why it worth the extra money.

if it was really worth my time, i would acquire a copy of everquest 2 and play it to see just how horrendous the max settings at 1280x1024 (because 17" is what most people have) are and then start looking.

Heh, it was a loaded question. My monitor maxes out at 1600x1200, but thats beside the point. To date, noone has assembled a computer capable of playing EQ2 w/ everything maxed.
