But I have a new cd deck with no tape deck. What is a good way of being able to hook my iPod up?
I was thinking about getting an FM transmitter. and just doing it that way. But a friend of mine who does installation stuff for best buy said to use a versitale link Ai-net adapter and a monster RCA to head phone jack cable (???). The Ai-net adapter would hook up to the back of my deck and I would just plug in the monster cable to my iPod..... or at least it goes something like that. He said that that would work alot better than an FM transmitter. I need some suggestions on what is the best way to hook it up. Thanks a lot

I have use one for about a 2years, or so. It has its pros and cons. No batterys needed to run it, runs off your Ipods battery, which in return uses more juice. Never had a prob with picking up other peoples Ipods nor stations in larger towns, Twin Cities and Denver have been fine.

Decided I would hard wire to aux though but sound quality will always suck on a Ipod vs a CD. Make sure if you use it match the volumes of the deck and Ipod, keeping them the same, less distortion.

Another thing is Harmon Kardons new controler which is decent. I have been thinking about getting it until Eclipse decides to figure out WTF they are going to do.

Alpine or Clarions higher end models seem the way to go. Just not for me

The only thing wrong with the KCA420i is that it is confusing to use at first and you don't have the direct access like you do with the click wheel. I have one of these and I love it other than the time it can take to access a song.

Having said that, going with someone you know isn't all bad either as long as you trust their skills...in reality though, hooking up an I-pod to a deck designed to interface with it is about as easy as it gets...

If you don't want to spend that much the aux. cable would do but then you have to mess around with your iPod while driving, whereas with the adapter you can change songs directly on the deck face.
