It strips the teeth on the little plastic gear on the sensor. I put a brand new one in there when I did the clutch in that car earlier this year.

If your codes come back them items will need to be replaced. The MAS code will havea lot to do w/ the hesitation and poor tip in on WOT. As of now though w/ that stuff being bad, the boost being uncontrollable, etc the car really isn't anymore tunable.
