92-95 would be the actual years of the most commonly modded civics.
I like the look of 96-00 myself a lot better.
Vtec has been around for a long time. They make a single overhead cam vtec option in every year after 92 (EX) and DOHC vtec in 99-00 civic Si's, and del sols in 96-97(i think).

IMO only models with engines worth moding are 92-95 EX coupe and Si Hatchback(d16A6 sohc vtec engine)
96-00 EX coupe(D16y8 sohc vtec engine), 99-00 Si Coupe(B16a2 DOHC vtec engine)

They are usually seperated as 92-95 or 96-00, unless you are looking for only coupes, then 93-95. Anyways, i have a del sol that i have been thinking of selling if you are interested.
