The last console that I paid for was an Atari 2600, I paid way too much for it ($250 in ~1980). A few years ago I saw one at a pawn shop for like $20 with about 30 games....guess I shoulda waited.

yes it is an upgraded nintendo, but at least they arn't having backwards compatability issues like Sony and Micro has had. No complaints from what I have heard for gamecube games not being able to be played. and for the innovation way of how you control the games is far superior to the 360 and PS3....just like the other two are far superior in graphics to the Wii. But we all know that Nintendos plan wasn't to provide a system with the best graphics, it is to bring back old gamers (like myself and the majority of Wii owners) along with the non-gamers. So far, their objective has been accomplished.

and like what others have said and commented on playing the PS3, the system doesn't go to its full potential, and from the complaints I have heard, it is having problems doing so with the current (and small) PS3 library of games. Only problem Wii owners have had a major issue with is their own lack of control and letting the Wiimotes go.

The sad thing is, it really doesn't. It's far from being a complete, well rounded system. If you read ANY of the reviews by anyone that really KNOWS hardware, it's not all its cracked up to be. The Wii is really a traditional gamers system. I haven't really enjoyed games since my original Playstation. The Wii is WELL worth the 249.99 pricetag, and I wouldn't bother spending anything over the $600 pricetag of the PS3, and I would have a hell of a time paying the $600 off the shelf, when I can get a 360 or Wii and enjoy it much more. The market has dictated which system is better already. The PS3 was hot for about a week. Look on eBay, your $1800 was a waste of money. It's ok though, we understand you are trying to justify spending that load of money on a gaming system that will just go down in price...

Anyway, all article's indicate that current software on PS3 are mostly Xbox360 ports / developers can't exploit the PS3's hardware capabilities (many of which arent superior to 360)... and with BlueRay looking like a failure...
