Fuck you

Thats the best part though. I would much rather have a V8 that revs to 19,000 than one that only revs to say 5500. Plus think of all the technology put into those engines, anyone can make 700hp out of a large displacement V8, but to do it out of a 2.4L one is simply amazing.

plus it sounds awesome when your revving to 19,000 rpms!

So you can wait 3 days to hit the powerband?
probably only makes 15HP up until 17,500 when v-tak kicks in.

atleast it has a power band! what was your best time at the track dubbsy?everything has a powerband... I'll take mine down where it's accessible.
....who cares what my best time was? I drove a stock 4000lb car. Atleast it's not a honda, that's all I'm worried about.

on an F1 car, it will rev FAST.
I'll take one of these thank you!

How do you think a 19000 rpm car idles?
Hey lets have a pain in the ass, barely able to tolerate on the street car because it revs high and has cool technology over one that tears ass anytime you feel like stomping on the loud pedal.:icon_thumleft: its all good though, when people make fun of you for stalling the car and how much of a dog it is when your trying to get from A to B you can just tell them "but it revs to 19k and has cool technology"
I'm not saying new tech and all that isn't cool, just that i see no reason to spend more for less.

I was leaning on the principle of the matter, not necessarily an argument on streetability (OBVIOUSLY thats why they don't put 19000rpm engines in street cars). Anyways, big pushrod engines = old technology IMO. Not that you can't make big power out of, or enjoy a pushrod engine, but I find it much more impressive to make big power out of a smaller engine. On the the "forever to rev" part, that's what lightweight titanium internals are for! As for low end torque, sure V8s will have it in buckets, but top end in a pushrod engine is thrashy at best, and not the "song" of a VVT OHC engine. As I see it, I would gladly sacrifice low-end torque for a more enjoyable driving experience.
This goes along with the never-ending 4-cyl vs. V8 argument. People will always stand by what they drive and argue until eternity on the subject. I'm merely stating these things as my opinion and nothing more. Everyone has the right to enjoy their car no matter what it has for an engine. (Although we all know I6s are the best anyway :icon_thumright:)

WERD, new z06s suck, pushrods and shit...
"lightweight titanium internals" haha yeah ok.. Im sure they help but will do nothing compared to the gearing it will take to take advantage of that kind of powerband.
I'm not argueing the fact of the ohc superiority, but its kind of pointless to spend more to go slower and say you just like a motor better because you know somehow that ohc motors are better even though its less powerful. I know id rather swap out one cam then 2 or 4.
"top end in a pushrod is thrashy at best" must have read that on some import internet site, since you haven't driven a well done v8. I do agree that the top end on a stock 5.0 sucks, still rather have one then a fwd tqless import though. I'll take the song of an ls1 up top over the "song" of a vtec weed wacking away anyday.
Getting high hp out of a small engine is impressive but Ill take a faster car that hasn't maxed out its displacements potential any day of the week.
btw, a lot of I6's are pretty cool

Acceleration times from a Renault F1 car (100kph = 62mph):
0 to 100 km/h: 1.9 seconds
0 to 200 km/h: 3.9 seconds
0 to 300 km/h: 8.4 seconds, may be slightly more or less depending on the aerodynamic setup"top end in a pushrod is thrashy at best" must have read that on some import internet site, since you haven't driven a well done v8."
I have not driven a V8, but I have ridden in a friends GTP at full whack. And VTEC/VVT can sound quite nice when not hooked up to a fart can. In the end it depends on what your preference is.
"and say you just like a motor better because you know somehow that ohc motors are better even though its less powerful"
Depends on the application. How about a V12 Ferrari vs. a Camaro?

As I see it when you buy a Camaro, you get around 300hp from the factory. When you buy a CRX, you get a little over 100hp. Now look at what seanjohn has done for example (built LS/VTEC), and he is looking for high 12s all motor.
It's easy to have a fast car when it already came fast from the factory before you modded it. Now making a slow-from-the-factory 4-cyl fast, that's much more worthy of praise in my book.
To each their own! I'm done on the subject.
