I think the only reason you see a Saturn roadster is because Saturn is the GM nameplate for "cheap" and they want it to appear that anyone can own a sporty roadster.

the sky IS affordable for anyone with a half ways decent income... If I really felt Like owning one, I could afford it! I think that the solstice/sky could be sold for 5k more and would probably still sell almost as good. They seem to be really reliable from what I have talked to people/ read on forums, very low maintenence and good on gas. I forsee the roadsters taking off big within a year or so. Also, I bet they will be one of the highest resale-value keeping american-made cars
