I never lived in the dorms, and I don't think I could have, it would have driven me crazy. I like my own space and my privacy, and honestly I didn't want to be on the NDSU campus 1 minute longer then I had to be...

Oh and sitting by somebody in class and talking about car is a bad idea, you won't get anything done haha...

I am actually in the tourism buisness now. I work for princess cruises and let me tell you, It's a very rewarding buisness. The only way one would really like this line of work is if they are a people person. I would love to do this for life to tell you the truth. It's really alot of fun meeting new people and seeing new faces in an otherwise dank city...(Juneau) Just brightens up my day to see someone smile. Also, it's fun to make their day because since you made them smile, they will carry it on and make several others smile. A smile is a very infectious thing and a terrible thing to waste...
Cool, I've been in the industry for close to a decade and have loved every minute of it :icon_thumleft:

IDK, maybe it's different for some people who grew up here but I know quite a few people who lived off campus freshman year and completely regreted it. I wouldn't trade the good times I had during freshman dorm life for anything.

            Fixed that for you.

BTW, have fun hanging out with your sister while the rest of the freshman guys are enjoying sharing their living quarters with hotties:icon_bounce:

But at least at the end of the year you can sell ur books and get some money... granted it's not gonna be alot like $80 or something but at least its some money back.
I wait until classes start to buy my books just to see which ones i need and don't need so i dont waste unnessecary money.

Thats a really good idea, but i can still sell my books back by well into the school year for full price.

No, just saying you shouldn't bitch about what you are spending for books...once you start a career $411.32 will seem like a drop in the bucket compared to what you shell out every week/month for taxes

excuse me...i need to go take a democrap

Also, I am living off campus and this is indeed my freshman year...but right now with my car situation, and money situation in general (even if I had the money sittin in the bank), I cant afford the $4,000+ for the year (I think it's around there anyway)...If things pan out the way I want them to, I have 3 more years after ndsu that cost $23k alone for tuition...that's not including living costs at all. Dorms at the University I want to attent are $17k/year...I have to start saving now (minus an occassional car splurge ;)) because I want to keep my loans to a minimum. That, and I can only do homework when there's peace and quiet...I cant handle background noises when i do my hwork. As in, the absolute most I can handle is a quiet TV...that's about it.

I have heard mixed reactions from dorm life...most people that I have talked to that live in the dorms want to get out as soon as they can. Maybe I've just talked to the wrong people...idk

I agree with you... i wouldn't want to pay 17 grand a year for a tiny little room! yeah it's easier to meet people that way but you can do that in class or in groups.
