Thanks guys. This project has been a pain since day one as far as commuation and the lack of help that i recieved from others who also volunteered, but as we delivered it today, i truly was touched by Parkers determination. The hardest part was keeping everything simple yet effective. It is amazing what this young boy is able to do even with his short comings. He is going to take it home now, learn to ride it and then bring it back so we can further modify it to better suit his needs.
The coolest part was seeing the look on his face, and watching his learning curve over the hour that i spend with him last night. The shots on the news looked like there was no way in hell he was ever going to get a hang of it, but we worked at it after the news team left and he made valient strides.
I encourage everyone to get involved with projects like these if the opportunity ever presents its self.

Just an Update, i recieved an E-mail from parkers mom this morning:
To everyone involved with getting Parker the scooter please forward this to
others I don't have the email address for. We thank everyone I have no....
knowledge of the mechanics of making things work but I can appreciate
workmanship and thought processes ,sometimes as a parent it is frustrating
to be able to help Parker we have a idea but just aren't sure how to go
about it so it's like accomplishing something we've envisioned. So we as a
family are extremely thankful for all of you and a special thanks to
shriners for everything for setting up the meeting and helping to accomplish
something I had hoped will be very positive for Parker.. I just have to tell
you after we left and I had to play 18 holes of minature golf with that
bugger no getting out of it.. We got home and he insisted on practicing and
pretty soon he had lifted it onto the sidewalk and then was going down a
slight hill on the road never swerved or wavered .. without the pedal to the
metal was doing "what Scott had said to practice " when his dad got there he
did great to but wanted to run it a little to say the least as Mitch was
running and helping for awhile he is going to set those pieces down a little
by the go pedal and put a slight wedge so he can only go so fast. Mitch was
very impressed and I encouraged him hopefully to come to anything in the
future because it is and was very positive for Parker I wrote this the next
day since then has been the weekend he is riding it like a crazy man and he
and his brother have ridden it together my next thing is to save for a bike
for Zach thanks so much for all of the work you made one little person very
happy I asked him yesterday how he liked his scooter I love driving it he
said....
