Couple quick Q's

yeah its pretty rice, it think you can get a 5spd sebring tranny, same motors i beleive but dont quote me. i know they had 5spd trannies for sebrings tho for a fact. and both cars are 2.5L...and something most people dont know about sebrings and avengers is that in 1st they will shift to 2nd by them selves redline..

I went to test drive it yesterday night and it's pretty nice. 6K for a car with 54K miles. Not to bad, in my book, that is still getting broke in. They said that the car was serviced every 2500 miles whether it needed it or not, and I slammed it down a few times, and it goes pretty quick. I am going to go try and test drive the bonneville today and I will let you all know what I think. I really want the bonneville, but in all practicality, it might have to be the avenger. I'm not made of money...although I wish I was...lol

Oh damn, 01 is pretty new, have you checked out carshq.net or keepitlocal.com yet? I bet you can find somethin there. If not try, autotrader. A little bit of distance is usually worth a lot on the price...

I know the differences between a DOHC and a SOHC but what are the advantages between the two?Well I was saying the motor he bought was the SOHC 3/s motor, which is not the super-motor he claims it to be. If he wanted something cool, he shoulda just done the TT motor.

You beat me to it..
I was going to say that some avengers come with a 4cyl (420a) motor, and already a 5-speed, so you would save on the transmission swap.
The 420a motor is a pretty popular motor, not only found in avengers, but also talons, eclipses, and even neons. They make a few kits for them as well. I believe hahn makes a 20g kit for them.. This was upon research many years ago. I don't think the stock clutches in that car aren't quite that strong, but an upgrade is a pretty good idea if you do turbo it. The internals also I don't think can hold too much power, but upgrades are also avail. as well.
I'd do a google on 420a Turbo or something of that sort, and you'll find a lot of info.
Regal GS/GTP(GrandPrixs) can also be modified easy for some great speed.
