You can't do that in any small pickup. You can easily with a Dakota...
An S10 isn't that small really. 91nbtsi drives one and he's not short... Just get one with 4 doors or an extended cab...
Our V8 Durango gets 18mpg on the highway because its full-time 4wd, so I know if you got a Durango/Dakota that was switchable 2wd/4wd, it'd easily get in the 20s...

My Jeep is an awsome vehicle. but isnt the easiest to work on. well put together. hasnt ever broken down, its a 97, but the AC is ghey, and i dont care to fix it, we the flapper that goes from hot to cold doesnt close the hot side all the way and its 26hrs labor to do the job not including the parts. GHEY

lol Jeep. That sucks.
PSiedTSI, whats ur S10 get for milage in town/interstate?
-
If you want a full size pickup you can really that you could do anything with and still get great milage then you want a dodge cummins.
Youll get the best milage with the older 12 valve engine (94-98.5) though the 24 valve (98.5-02) and common rail (03-pres.)get damn good milage with a programer, and they will last forever. the 12 valve is absolutely indestructable though.
I have a large fuel plate and full length 5" exhaust (350hp 700ftlbs wheel) and i get 21mpg and 17 towing 75 mph on interstate. A 2wd version can get upwards of 25mpg

a 5spd ranger gets 24mpg in the city and 28 on the highway. The 2.3 is a reliable motor.
Shit that is funny..... i owned a mint 97 2wd 5speed ranger with the 2.3L before i traded for the cummins. And this is no lie.... sure you can get 25-28 mpg traveling at 50mph and I did... but on the interstate it was a joke.... that thing was labored to death trying to keep 75 on flat ground even with a little headwind, and on the west side of bismarck when you start getting hills.... fuck it was all over, i kinda felt bad for the engine.
I never got better than 17mpg on all the trips i made from Wahp to home 350miles, All interstate, and this pickup was perfect running condition
Reliable...very -
PSiedTSi - ahh. u happen to know what he gets?

thats what i dont want lol.
and yea, im highly looking into s10s.
about once a month ill be going up to winipeg, and i'd like to get decent milage. (my trip is paid for anyway... but still.)
91nbtsi - lol i didn't go back and check. mah bad. thanks tho. I would just go 2wd. I don't care much for 4x4 beings i can either take my parents truck or their suburban. Both of which are 4x4 so.. 2wd get me around 23 im guessing?
