I would do an LS1 in a rx-7 or s13. It almost happened.

    PM me for:
    Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
    Diesel repairs or performance products.

I was reading the other day and IIRC (they) said 10-20lbs more weight with the LS1. which makes it what, 52/48 weight balance instead of 51/49?

No, I believe it gives it a better overall balance...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

well, hinson says an LS swap is lighter, other places are saying heavier...

IIRC, when Hinson swapped the LS1 into an S14, after changing from the automatic + KA + exhaust, to the LS1 + tranny + exhaust, they lost about 140+ lbs, or some stupidly high difference like that. Not sure about the FC/FD chassis.

              interesting reading...

240Zs actually get rear heavy with an LS1. Going from 1400/1400 to 1400/1430...

For an FD; I would kind of think it's pointless to do unless the motor is blown, or you bought an empty shell and did the engine install. FDs are unique & rare, so no real reason to rip out the rotary engine. If I found a FD shell; I would put in an LT1 before a rotary though. Do some simple bolt-ons, cams, etc. Now if it was an FC; I wouldn't care so much if there was a rotary in there already; I would just do the swap. ++ W/ the probability of finding a FC shell cheaper over a FD I would probably drop a turbo on it and let her rip.. 🙂

                      By far no doubt there..
Just saying you'd still be able to pull off a swap w/ the FC as well.
And it'd be cheaper as well... Since I'm sure a rolling shell of a FD compared to a FC is a bit of a price difference by far, and the rarity is up there as well.

For that much money... 28k-30k i'd rather have TT supra... but that swap is sweet...

RX7s lose thier appeal w/ the incredibely unreliable rotary... replacing it makes it awesome...

FD's? are ya kidding? find more then a handful with any sort of higher mileage that hasn't had to have atleast one motor rebuild (if not two or three)... even alot of the owners will claim the 60k rebuild shit...

I think the same way. But I would have to have both. One rotary and one V8. Sweet car cant go wrong with either engine.

When I had two 91 300zx's. I thought putting a v8 in the silver one would be cool. Of course when you start thinking about a project something comes up like medical bills. 😞 So I kept my twin turbo and sold the n/a. Family more important then cars.

I saw a lt1 91+ 300zx on ebay awhile ago that looked gay. It looked like you could put two lt1's side by side. Although that would be cool to have. I like being different then the rest of fargo. That engine bay didnt rock my boat.

that exhaust is actually an apexi nual n1 exhaust. and personally, as cool as the ls1 is.... to me, it kinda kinda ruins the rarity and perfection of the rx7. I'll keep my rotary 😛
