The manual trans safe ones watch the door pins and the ebrake. This isn't really something you should attempt if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Ive seen cars wrecked because of people putting them in a manual car and not knowing what they are doing. My $0.02.PREACH ON BROTHER TROY!!! PREACH ON!!!
ahem....yeah, what he said

I put one on my hyundai last winter. You pull the ebrake, and it stays running until you get out and shut the door. Then it shuts off and locks the doors. If you don't set the ebrake, or you open the doors after it's armed, it won't let you start the car with the remote.

Generally that is how they are all set up, the actual "engagement/safety" procedures vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but they almost all involve ebrakes and door switches.

have you installed a remote start in an automatic vehicle before? If not, I wouldn't attempt any remote starter, let alone trying to put one in a manual. They can be tricky and as other before me have posted....its ok if its you're own car and you know exactly what you're doing, but even now I will not do them anymore or customers. I had a guy run his truck into his deck and crawl up the side of his house because he forgot it was in gear....THANK GOD FOR THE "I'M NOT LIABLE" CONTRACT!

so what kind of problems are we talking about that can happen here?

Just bring it to Tintmasters and be done with it

Some people don't want to waste their time when they could have someone else who is a professional and has done it tons of times do it for them.

It's economics. If it would take you 6 hours to install it (ignoring the cost of the system itself) and you make $10/hr at your job and someone else offered to install it for $59 labor it'd still make economic sense to have them install it.

Haven't had a problem yet. I don't start the car if someone else drove the car or if I am not 100% positive that the car is in neutral
