I'd rev it to 8000 and side step the clutch!

I vacuum lock the brakes, rev to ~5200 RPM and then take my foot off the brake when the last light goes yellow. Works great, I often launch at 19-22psi.

btw, I have an auto, not a manual, that might make a bit of difference I'd guess. But then again, you weren't very specific.

^^ That's what you would do if you had a REAL AWD tranny mwuahahaha, jk man. I leave mine on auto, rev the living piss out of it and slip/drop (hard to describe, not a full drop, but hardly slipping at all) the clutch while at the same time mashing the gas. I control the launch/tire slip with the clutch not the gas. 1.71 60 ft on stock tires so far and getting better....slowly, just my opinion and technique.

                    One time...

put it in LOCK mode...then do it...your 60 ft would be 1.5 then 🙂

For some reason (could've just been the track conditions the very few days I have run) I was getting better 60 fts with it on AUTO instead of LOCK. Going to have to do some more experimenting eventually with that though. Oh yeah, put it in LOCK and try to turn, it doesn't like that very much hehe. Sorry done whoring now.

Well there are a few ways of launching..

                          1. 2-step (Stutter box) Build's some boost on the line w/ the clutch pushed in. Go to the line try to preload the drivetrain so there isnt a harsh engagment on the drive-train parts( Axles, t-case, rear end, 1st gear) Then once you have pre loaded you will have the car in 1st gear w the clutch pushed in and the gas floored as the car boost builds and the light turns green. you will let the clutch out a little bit till its grabbing then let it out quickly w keeping your right foot planted on the gas... This should light up all 4 tires and shouldnt bog. This will take some practice and id practice on wet grounds befor you take it to a sticky track.... My .02

                          2. NO 2-step I dont hold the revs at a any certain rpm.. I kinda pulsate the gas peddle fast so the rpms are between 5500-6200 then with a quick slip-n-drop the car will lauch and hopefully wont break anything..

Practice on a dusty/dirty or wet road!!

Thats how I launch I had decent 60-foot times... best of 1.65 shitty tires, I know Nate Burgess had a 1.58 but with AEM and like 15 lbs on the line?

                          Good luck Newbe

Best thing I ever heard to learn how to launch was simply this: "Weight transfer like a biotch" combined with the technique #2 above. Sound familiar Kevin? 🙂

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!
