so with this cage certified to 7.50 how much more power is needed to make up for the added weight of it?

how much does it stiffen the car to better transfer power to the ground?

Turbo5Oh: I'd love to have a turbo'd 10.5w Mustang! I looked into it before I started with the black car, and it's just way too expensive. You can't use any of the stock Mustang parts, you have to replace basically everything. I don't like the idea of having to spend $15k+ on just the engine.

musthavemuzk: The cage is chromoly so it's not terribly heavy, bit still does add some weight, and a fair amount of rigidity as you said. How much extra HP to push that weight? I dunno.

As far as the Mustang goes, something like this would be really cool.

thats a sweet pic, and true as it gets. also i have read that it takes anywhere from 15hp for a regular bar, up to around 80-90hp to move a full cage down the track. BUT the side benefits are lowering your 60's 1 or 2 tenths and easily making up for the difference. At any rate, i dont see it being too hard to get an 8.50 et out of this car once its set up.

The car is down on it's wheels! w00t w00t! The front end is sitting up high because there isn't much weight up there yet. It needs to come down about 3" or so.
