Hooked up the reader at work today and the code was P0401 (exhaust gas flow insufficient detected)...Can anyone clarify that for me? The car is a 95 neon.

is it just throwing a code or is it running rough? check your EGR valve ports and operation.

As far as I can tell its just throwing a code....car itself runs pretty smooth... I did clear the code afterwards and on my way home it came back on after 2 or 3 miles...

the ecu isnt going to monitor back pressure in the exhuast. it does how ever watch pressure differances in the EGR system. and if it doesnt run shitty its not going to be a plugged cat then it would just fall on its face.
does it sound like it might have some detonation if you get on it at all? it doesnt need to be running bad to be detonating but with bad egr flow you might be able to hear some.
