Newer Monte Carlos are GAY

at least they did not do what dodge did with the charger. make it a 4dr car. this of course was after the econobox charger of the 80's.
remember that with the new Monte they had to go with aero package for nascar. yes you can make some changes to body panels, but i think they are limited. so best to come good from OEM for lots of left hand turns.
personally i am a GM guy. preferably chevy, but GM for sure.
if i could have afforded a new monte with the supercharged engine i would have went that way over my GTP. but they are still too much money for this guy.my fav monte is still the first one ever. 1970. next in line is the SS's of the 80's.

MontyOk, but the flip side of the coin is this:
At least the Charger is STILL RWD and has a V8. Chevy couldn't even get THAT right.

I think it's funny, 95% of the cars in this post are slower than a stock L67, or cars are slower in stock form than a stock L67 or LS4 monte carlo :icon_scratch:

Afsil80, the charger use fwd too, GM can still redeem itself by going back to rwd.

However, I said said the USE to be FWD (because they were at one point fwd cars), in reference to if chrysler can go back to rwd and redeem the charger, GM can go rwd and redeem the monte.

Some dope in town had one of the newer Monte Carlo SS cars. It had the name of some nascar guy on it also I think... was it like a Dale Earnhardt edition maybe?
In any case, this guy made a big deal of getting infront of me to get on the cloverleaf from I94W->I29S. I'm in my 20 year old boring BMW but I take this cloverleaf everyday so I can sustain 60mph entry and corner speed all the way through there no problem, and since the guy made such a big deal of trying to get infront of me I figured he'd be in a hurry to get around the cloverleaf. He wasn't, and so he had an irate M5 filling up his mirrors.
As he exited the cloverleaf he looks in his mirror, waves "bye bye", and floors it, like he's the hottest shit that's ever been shat.
When I was dead even with him in the next lane a few seconds later he didn't have the guts to turn over and look at my mocking smile that said "Congratulations redneck! Your FWD econo-dousche just had its shit ruined by a 20 year old sedan!"
Anyway, yeah. The FWD Monty is weak-sauce. There are a few FWD cars out there that are worthwhile inspite of being FWD. There is no monte carlo on that short list, however.

agreed that the new charger is RWD or AWD, but the mid 80's charger 2.2 was FWD i know that was the ONLY non GM car i have ever owned. and it was short lived.
and currently the charger is 4dr.Monty
