What's with all the blue tape? RX-8, VW GTI and especially the white civic.That parking lot is extremely gravely and has poor quality surface that likes to get ripped up. We tape our cars with painters tape because it helps prevent chips in your paint(most likely parts are right around the tires on the fenders and before and after the rear tires and mirrors). I normally tape the 240, but I got lazy after we got done messing with it last night and though it was going to be wet out.
I think it looks like I am tuckin the rear wheels!

and about the shane owning. That yellow corvette and kevin(that copper miata) are the closest I have scene in the area, fallowed by Bob(blue STi) Down in Sioux falls there was a guy that was IIRC 4 seconds faster then shane in a e36 M3

that camaro was damn hot. alot flatter than i expected it would be.
shane was the only one under a minute and only the last run of his was under the minute mark. 59 seconds. the next closest person was 1:02.
not to knock that vette, but at idol is sounded really really bad. like a diesel. once he got on it though it sounded good. wonder what that is?i have a few pics too.
had the vid camera going more so i did not get many pics.

I don't know how to ask this without sounding like a dick, but how fast was Shane before he got the Lotus?
It's surprising when something off-the-wall does well at an auto-X (like an S14 or my old M5). When it's a bunch of Miatas or an Elise-derivative, it's kind of expected, no?

he did very well when he had his S2000, he was almost always number one or in the top 3

its not always the car or the HP. its the driver more than anything. you have to know what you are doing and how to do it. not bragging, but i ran my little truck at an event, and kept times with the porsches that were running. the car doesnt always make you faster. the more you do it, the better you get, so long as you learn from your mistakes, and learn what and how you car can do

my 240 has potential. I just need experience. My last run i came to a almost complete stop, and then missed 2nd and came out of the loop way to sidewayz and overcorrected and ran .02sec. slower then my first run.
I totally agree auto-x has nothing to do with power, I turn my boost down as low as i possibly can, i wish i could turn it down more and learn the car and then add power later.
shane and kevin can drive, thats alot of it. I hope someday I will be able to compete at the same level as them (top 3 most the time) but I need lots of practice and to learn my car alot more.

you cannot be afraid to drive the car. push it hard on the gas and the brakes, but stay in control. having the right car helps, but it is not everything. tires pressure, focus, and and and.
