my DSM's heat used to be fuckin awesome, i'd turn the car off, come back 30 min later and it'd still be warm... then a month or two ago, it just stopped working well.

here's what i do... drive it normally till it gets up to temp, and them i stomp the gas and boost alot and my heat gets warm 🙂 i'm a ricer.

anyway, they have heated seat covers at target you should look in to it 🙂

Yeah it may come to somekind of plug into the cig lighter heater or something.

Geez guys just try changing the t-stat. they will still function but will sometimes stay stuck open enough not to create enough heat from the engine to heat your heater core. Jim, if it used to heat good and doesn't now, that's probably it. If not, try to back flush your heater core. It's not hard to do. Both my previous DSM's heated excellent even in sub zero conditions.

Oh yeah, Also make sure that the coolant level is up to par. If it isn't, you'll have an air pocket in your cooling system and it'll end up in your heater core resulting in a no-heat situation also.

My coolant is full, and we made sure to get all the air out....

Would a flush make any difference?

Make sure your vents are open I had a big prob with that too. Opening the vents helped alot.

If your heater core is getting plugged in the least bit, YOU BET IT WILL!! just backflush the heater core itself.

I have no problem heating up in my DSM. Problem I have is the damn dipstick keeps popping out coating my engine in nice oil. Don't worry Weshole I am going to pinch the dipstick tube and do the thing with the oil valve since I am home now back in the great WI until the 7th.

Thath must have been nice just having a turbo for the exahust. No boost lag whatsoever.

Did you pinch the tube in order to stop it?

it only that one time...more smoke than i ever wanna see from my car again...scared the hell out of me let me tell ya...it was right after i got the new motor running so i was just taking it for a test drive before it was modding time...

there was no lag anyway...it was a 13g strapped on there and that sucker practically spooled at idle...ask jeremy how it was against his 14b 🙂
