Is GOD real?
-
I believe in god.
I dont really go to church much because I work every weekend, but I believe in god.
Not real knowlegable either, you can drill me with questions and I prolly couldnt answer a single one, put its not going to change my beliefs. Sure its prolly a sin to never go to church, but I work hard and hopefully I will be forgiven -

Other religions are different belief will get you by.

All I gotta say is why do some Atheists and Agnostics celebrate Christmas? The only reason I do is because I am from a family of devoted Christians. It's a holiday I'm given and it's a time to gather with family.
This is the family I grew up in - I was baptized and I went through confirmation. It was about the time of my confirmation that I started to really question religion and realized my beliefs were not in line with those of Christianity. The fact is I do not believe in (a) God and I do not believe in a heaven or hell. I live my life for the hear and now, not out of fear for what may happen to me after I die. Where I came from is not important to me. Growing up atheist/agnostic in a religious family I've really tried to keep my beliefs to myself. You believe what you believe if you allow me my beliefs. Don't try to change my mind, don't force your beliefs onto me, and most of all DO NOT judge me because I don't believe in God (that is one of my biggest complaints - the view by some that atheists/agnostics are devil worshiping immoral people).

I've cast my vote, I'll stay out of the conversation as long as possible but this quote amuses me...

Carbon dating is a joking it isnt really that accurate.yea it isn't accurate down to the second, minute, day, month, or year but using the half-life of various elements (specifically carbon in this statement) can get you a ballpark figure. That ballpark figure goes WAAAAAAY past when god "created" the world.

i believe in a higher power but its a really touchy subject that i dont really think that i have made my mind up about officially
i dont know enough about my current religion to really say what i do or done believe in but i dont think that all of this could happen on accident.

To force my beliefs down anybodys throat or to ask them to make an exception for just me would be plain selfish. Besides, it's not Christs death and resurection that I celebrate. For me, it's about Getting together with my family and sharing the special times together. Yes I participate in the exchanging of gifts. It's not about religion for me. Besides, It would be a lonely Christmas by myself.

Well when god created the world it took him seven days....maybe a day for god is a million years or whatever he wants it to be. So maybe he created single organism which evolved by his wishes during the days of creation....and also during those days he created a bunch more shit and finally after seven days his masterpiece was finished. Just think the he could of created the dinosaurs and then said i dont like them and wiped them out during day three for god and started something different. Time is subjective here....anyways sorry for my thoughts, just throwing the argument the other way.

Christmas is a holiday now to make money not to celebrate the birth of jesus, just like Easter is supposed to celebrate the ressurection of Jesus Christ not some silly easter bunny(and to make more money) They were first followed because of religion not because of santa clause and easter eggs. Society did that.....
.... back to Jesus Christ, Islam and Judiasm believe in him as a prophet not the choosen one. Also, judiasm, islam and christianity broke off their separate ways in Moses time.

And why do so many "Christians" not live their life according to the Bible. It is the word of Christ, right?Christians believe in Original Sin, (all of mankind is held responsible for the sins of Adam and Eve) which only the sacrament of baptism in the name of Christ can expiate.
Taken from http://muslim-canada.org/islam_christianity.html
( I was looking up the similarities between Islam and Christianity)

the demons believe there is a god. so believing isnt everything. X-mas is a symbolic holiday but in all reality it is winter solstice which was and is a pagan holiday. same with easter which is spring solstice. A crazy guy named Constantine came up with he made Christianity as a religion that is acceptable to all people the catholics and the other religions. opps just rambling

Or so they believe its more of a theory than anything i dont know if they are wrong or right but im not a scientist but from what i have read its accurate for a few thousand years after that its a guessing game the technology hasnt been around long enough to give any real proof.

Evolution does not disprove God, I've always wondered why peopled thought that...
If God is all knowing and all powerful, which I believe, then the laws of Physics and everything that control the universe are there for a reason. He made everything the way it was so there could NEVER be any definitive way for us to prove/disprove his existence. Proving he exists forces people to believe in him which is something he doesn't want. I could go in depth but I'm too tired to.
Suffice to say, he made everything for reasons we'll never know until after death.

But they still had one main god. If it wasnt the sun than Zeus....either way almost every major religion believes in a main god. Also, Constantine did not create Christianity, he created it as a church because he had a vision if he fought under the christian symbol he would win. There were christian believers before him....
