I've got a Q
-
So, I took out a 2004 Scion XA for the weekend. I'm thinking about buying it. The dealership wants 10,900. It's got 66000 miles on it with a 5 spd manual transmission. What I want to know is how modifiable is this car? I haven't signed anything but an agreement to bring the car back on monday. I need to know what's the market like for these cars? Is it just as huge as the Civic's is? Where can I find parts? Turbo's, exhausts, headers, cams, everything...Again, I haven't bought it yet, but I'm leaning towards getting it because catching a bus to the mall and then having to either walk or take a taxi is getting annoying and being able to put all my stuff I've accumulated in it to get from one place to another would be great.

If going fast is ultimately what you are after, then this is not the car for you. Sure there is a pretty decent aftermarket following. But, there are better platforms to start from. I personally think they are a good looking car and look even better with the right modifications. (body, exh, etc.) But be realistic with what your expectations are. You have the internet at your disposal, use it and you'll see what is available for it.

Scions have a pretty decent aftermarket but still not as big as a civic obviously. But yes, like everyone says, research, it isn't hard, just type in xA turbo kit and see what comes up, then check out the forums to see what everyone is doing.

Like wes said, there not speed demons by any means but there are quite few option available to give it little more kick performance wise and visually. The xA's look damn nice with just a drop, wheels, and lip or simple body kit.
Here's a couple links that should get you pointed in the right direction.

i would look into a nice used Cobalt SS, those are by far and away one of the most fun cars to drive ever made. Plus they are already as fast as a modded xA, and have huge potential compared to that pile your looking at. Remember you get what you pay for, and the cobalt ss is a more solid and capable car than that xA could ever dream of being, but it will be a little more cash. Not much, but its worth it IMHO

im not a fan of Xa's to be honest. i think they are kinda awkward looking and remind me of a chevy aveo. id take up a different route if youd like to dabble into modifying to as well

I sell stereo equipment and stuff that can be molded into your vehicle...I also sell equipment for Honda's, so from Trafik Jamz, you have as many choices in equipment as honda's do if that makes you feel any better.
