a stupid kid driving fast weaving in and out of traffic is killing the car scene? how do you figure?
I'd like to know what you guys think makes the car scene "alive?"
Hanging out in parking lots? ricing around?
Also, does it take shane, jason, tufte, gsr, ect, to make the car scene alive? lol, because thats the way your making it sound... -

i always drove like an ass hat.

It's funny that you say you drove like an ass hat and that people in this thread complain and complain and complain about that killing the scene and what not...but yet they would never say a damn thing about you killed the scene. So is it only certain people that if they drive like a dbag they are killing it? Whats the criteria exactly so i get this straight.

I dont know how many times i've seen people that are supposed to be part of the of the "scene" doing cookies an burnouts and driving like idiots in kmartparking lot. -
it would be cool if everyone could just hang out. but it seems to me that you have to be of a specific genre to roll in this town. id hang out, but feel like im not welcome. so why would i want to hang out then? i got my own crew now, and we are all about helping each other out as much as possible. not dissing on how stupid that car or this car is, or what the purpose or reason for doing mods is. seems like evryone is all about how fast there car will go in a straight line. who cares? to me, it takes more too turn both ways, and use your gas and brake pedals. to me the scene is about being friends, hanging out, and helping each other. not about whos got the most money wrapped up into their ride.

Getting stuff rolling at 8:30 strikes me as a bit too early. Kid is barely in bed and there's other stuff to take care of while there's still daylight left. By the time I'm ready to dick around at nite its like 10 or later and I have no idea where people might be.I agree thrash!!!!! On another note i was in highschool when i seen the tuners meeting on main and Mcdonalds. I thought that was cool as hell. Stop by and check out the rides. Now i dont see it anymore. I would rather hang out to meet new people and see what kind of mods are done to a car. You do have to agree though the punk kids that drive like retards get the cops attention and in turn the cops zoom in on the rest of the people with modded cars and chase us out of our hangouts. Like Kmart.....i think we all remember the notorious shopping cart problem.

Honestly, I think what makes the scene is just hanging out and getting to know eachother and having good bs sessions, Getting togather and cruising as a group once in awhile dosent hurt. Having a little more than a few hours notice about meeting somwhere might let more people find time to meet up, whether it is at k-mart, t-masters, or anywhere. As for people driving like asshats, that does hurt the guys that are minding themselves, Back home i saw it all the time, living in a small town, that was about the only thing to do was go up the the lot and hang out and bs, and then the drunk retards and kids in daddys pickups, and cars that were bought for them would come up there and raise hell, break bottles and throw trash in the parking lot, and ruin it for everyone. I know one person on here, and id really like to meet a few people on here, and bs a little, but i need a little more heads up on when meets are, having kids and a family makes it tough, but... with a little notice people may be able to make the time.

Thats different!!! Burnouts + Cruising = it all equals out and helps the scene
wrong... because that's what gets the cops on people asses. People fuck around and get caught, then insist that the cops are out to get them and quit going out.

it's still too early to suggest this coming friday, huh.
honestly i wouldn't mind meeting a few people for once; if there's some good bs'ing involved, that's even better. like i've said before, nothing i drive is show-worthy, but i'm all for hanging out for a while, getting some ideas on what to improve on..
getting some new people involved (yeah, including me) could only help the scene. so some of us noobs could show up for once.. it's a possiblity that some of the highly-modified stuff scares people into thinking their shit isn't good enough to show up. Mostly for me.. I hardly have the time to show up if I don't know ahead of time something's happening. I catch the "meet tonight" posts sometime around 10-11PM usually.

My car is not show worthy, nor can i afford to make it thatway. but... i dont see the scene as, "Who has the most money, or most mods". even mildly modded cars are cool to check out. Better yet like ive said before, the social aspect of it, just hanging out and bull shitting is what really makes it fun. Also if it is cool with the t-masters crew (owner :)) , that'd be a cool hangout, cause then when an asshat that thinks driving like and idiot, mouthing off, ect ect shows up, he can be told to get the f*** out, where as we cant do that in the k-mart parking lot.

i do remember a time earlier this summer when me and moses almost got t-boned at taco bell by a dumbass not watching where he was driving. and we all got on his ass, but i dont think i have ever said something to people driving like dbags. shit me a travis had cowboy hats on one night and were ripping through gears like crazy.
unless it was when we were trying to bs in a parking lot and an rx8 (not anthony) was doin cookies right by us.

what i got out of what you said was that people on here are saying that others (myself included) driving like morons kills the scene. but in fact we do it ourselves.
