for 2 maby u and alot of other people should not have a COLD AIR intake get that damn thing outa the bumper. stupidest thing ever are those intakes. but do as u please.

There is nothing wrong with cold air intakes in bumpers. The filter has to be completely submerged to cause damage, and most people are conscience enough to think twice with or without a CAI. This is the 2nd car I have heard of locally that has had issues with water and CAI's out of ~200 I have sold. Don't be scared of CAI's, be scared of potentially deep amounts of water.

        Sorry for the misfortune.

another reason i diss them is because also because the filter is outa sight and people forget to clean them too which can also be bad. my .02

in the 12+years of being in auto business I have seen alot of cars suck in water...mostly driver error...but if the customer is that stupid to drive in deep water and the intake is lower then stock you cant tell me that it wouldnt aid to water ingestion

Give him a break. Shit happens, and at least he had full coverage. So he's getting a motor with roughly 20,000 less miles on it put in now with no raise in insurance premiums. I'd say he came out pretty good after a shitty deal happened.

              I wanna go fast!

ouch. I hadn't heard about this happening until just now. That sucks, man! At least you're coming out ahead in the end. No water damage other than the engine?

No damage other then the engine so far. not sure yet tho since my car is still in pieces. waiting on a few parts to come in and the tech is on vacation till wed now. So once he gets everything together, we get to see if she will run and run correctly

just convert it to run off seawater, then you got 1/2 of it covered and then you can drive it the way you like to aka go on deep sea adventures.

i'd do it myself, but i would have no clue on putting the car back together. The "new" motor is on the ground with the tranny next to it atm. It would probably take me longer to get it all back together then the tech anyways. no matter what i have put into the vehicle, i have always had a tech at work do it or watch me so i do it right
