i'd do it myself, but i would have no clue on putting the car back together. The "new" motor is on the ground with the tranny next to it atm. It would probably take me longer to get it all back together then the tech anyways. no matter what i have put into the vehicle, i have always had a tech at work do it or watch me so i do it right

i bet you would just scatter your parts all over your lawn. fuckin YARD SALE...what am i suposed to do?? think really hard and hope my tranmission rebuilds itself?? or maybe next time i can ask you to fix it??

Im not sure exactly what you are saying, but I'm just wondering why you think he should do the work himself, when your Evo always sits at a shop.

he has a shop at his expense. i have a front yard. if i had a place to work on it and the tools, i would do it myself.

                                Update:

Car is back together and running again as of wed. Just apparently not reliable driving yet. A few parts were ordered on wed and came in today. One of them was the wrong part so they overnighted the right part and they said it will be all set to take home tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes alright and i actually get it tomorrow.

I'm guessing since his insurance covered it he would like to have it done at a place that will warranty the work in the event of a fuck up? Maybe I'm crazy, but this seems like a good idea to me?!?!?

Since my insurance covered it and i work at a Mazda dealership, i decided the best idea was to just have them do it. Plus then i can watch the progress on the whole ordeal.

like Chuck said since insurance is paying the bill your better off having someone do the repair...if there is any problems down the road then the installer/insurance company will take care of it with the warranty

just like buying a part over the counter...you have a 12/12 parts warranty but no labor coverage...if its installed in the dealer then you have both parts and labor coverage
