ya, it sounds more like she pulled out in front of him, which is very possible with an inexperienced driver. people make mistakes and neither the girl or the victim should ever have to be put through an experience like this. condolences for both the girl, the victim, and everyone else this has effected.didn't see the collision (but was close enough to hear it), but I did watch him accelerate hard and do a wheelie (then I lost site of him behind KFC) I also saw her pulling into traffic, I don't think she could have anticipated him accelerating that hard....maybe there was a bit of inexperience there, but I don't think she was at fault. A co-worker of mine witnessed it as well (saw the whole thing) said she didn't think the girl was at fault at all in her opinion.
The fact of the matter is if he would have been not fucking around the whole thing would probably have been avoided. How fast do motorcycles accelerate again? 0-to-60 in pretty fucking fast as far as I remember. And whether it is his fault or not, it should serve as a reminder that on a motorcycle you are virtually unprotected and you will lose when you run into someone else....whether it is your fault or not, you will be the one paying for it.

If the issue is that she was 15, well she had a driver's license. Maybe they need to up the age to get a license.Because 18 y/o inexperienced drivers are magically better drivers than 15 y/o inexperienced drivers???
Not buying it. I've been legally driving for 19 years...and I've gotten much better at it with more practice.
Mentally, I don't see much difference between the 15 and 18 y/o people around here....especially when it comes to driving habits...the 22 y/o was driving like an idiot too...so what age should we raise the legal driving age to? 32?

What you're failing to understand is that an 18-year-old driver will have three more years of experience in the seat versus a 15-year-old driver.

none the less, 14 is really stretching the legal age to driveI've been driving loaded grain trucks on public roads since I was 10 or 11....tractors, pickups and other farm machinery for longer than that....as have most of my friends that grew up on farms.
The age limit at 14 is just fine for me.

The age limit of 14 might have been fine for you but theres a few different factors now days. Do you really trust a 14 or 15 year old girl in a big car full of friends and most likely texting to be fully compitent of whats going on around her? saying theres no mental differences between a 14 and 18 year old is ridiculous.

I think pretty much all accidents would be avoided if someone wasnt "fucking around".True....I'd say 99.999999999999999999% of all accidents could be avoided by paying better attention. From my perspective, she pulled out 1/2 block in front of a motorcyclist that at the time was not speeding (at least not as much). As she pulled out, I'm sure she did what I do....look to the lane you are going to merge with and make sure you don't hit anyone there....coincidentally, at the same time he decided to accelerate and do a wheelie....bad choice on his part. I still contend she was not in the wrong.

If you are texting while driving, that is stupid. Period. Big car...shit, what difference does that make? If he had hit a Smart he would be dead still...that doesn't mean shit. But yes, when my son is of age (still 12 years away) I fully expect that I will trust him with my vehicles...whether that be my Camry, Murano or WRX...or whatever I'm driving then.
I'm saying that there is not much mental difference as far as the "I'm invincible" factor between those ages. If there were, the accident would not have happened because the motorcyclist would have been driving at a speed that would have allowed him to avoid such a collision in the first place.
