Sorry you've got your facts wrong man.

Propietary HD? Uhh NO? What is propietary High Def anyway? No such thing.
    1080p? Yes
    Upscales DVD? Yup
    PS3 Games ? Two
    Xbox 360 Games ? Million
Centralized quality assured online play? Yup
Folding @ Home? LOL who cares, my computer pwns a PS3 anyday in Folding

$199 Xbox Cost with a 3 year RROD warranty
    $399 Non Backwards Compatiblity PS3

You've got to be kidding me about the Sony bullshit about the huge processing power that the PS3 has, its GPU is weaksauce, nobody gives a shit about CPU power becuase it doesn't matter.

If you really are too poor to care about paying the $5 a month for live, you should re-evaulate owning a current generation system, ask anybody with Live, the small price is well worth it.

Nobody gives a shit about BlueRay becuase nobody wants to go blow $30-40 on a disc that gains marginal quality. It's a sony gimmick that will never be anywhere near the market pentration of DVD's; Streaming media / Digital content delivery IS the future.

I've seen more and more PS3's failing as the lens's go out (I mean ALOT) in the past few months.

Look, I do this for a living; Xbox 360's have hardware problems, but MS is good about taknig them back and replacing them. Sony on the hand is not. PS3's fail ALOT, you just don't hear about it becuase nobody has one.

So basically....you like your system and I like mine. Good?

But seriously, LOL @ the million to two games comment. You and I both know that a shitload of games are cross-platform. Companies almost have to nowadays to profit more. I wasn't bitching about Live being expensive, since it is affordable. I'm just saying it's nice that Sony keeps their internet "free." And the notion that their internet sucks is bunk too. The PSN registered base is now equal to Live's.

Blu-rays being $30-40 bucks? What are you smokin'? Check this site out from time to time.

Not to mention I never buy movies. Just rent 'em.

Comparing a base Xbox versus a PS3 is BS too. Again, no Blu-ray drive and no built-in WIFI. I didn't know about the MS hard drive being swappable with an external, so I guess that's a plus. It's nice that Sony doesn't void your warranty for swapping out their Seagate for anything you want, tho. The PS3 I've owned and used for countless hours now works just as perfect as the day I opened it up knock on wood. I never had any of the problems mentioned with the original Playstation or PS2 either. I guess I'm lucky.

This generation console war is over, PS3 fanboys can go talk thier shit up some more, but the truth is, Xbox 360 > PS3

If you're using sales numbers to quantify this metric, as I assume you're doing, you'd be right, the Wii won this time. 🙂

Considering the console is sooooo much more expensive and has all that "worthless" technology you mention, and the fact that it came out a year later, it's pretty amazing that the PS3 isn't too terribly far behind the 360 worldwide.

Obviously not smoking as good of shit as you are:

List prices for Bluray are between 30-45, obviously if you order things online you can get them cheaper, but either way nobody cares to use bluray.

PSN does not equal Live, in any shape or form (Sony counts PSP users as PSN users).

Your correct and that there are alot of cross platform games; most of which are 360 ports; so when your comparing systems, which platform has the most worthwhile platform exclusives? There's no comparision here.

Oh, and the Wii is a toy and you and I both know it doesn't touch either the 360 or the PS3 as an actual gaming system. And yes I've had every system.

It's ok, It's sort of stupid to argue over; You keep buying your PS3 games and Bluray Discs.

I'll keep streaming media and playing 360 exclusives 🙂

Um, I see a lot of movies for $20 bucks and a FOUR DISK Planet Earth series for $80, with a few sprinkled here and there for $30.

          Point?

I will enjoy my Blu-rays and MGS4, which the 360 does not have (never will) and is the only "exclusive" I care about.

Rumor is: GOW and Mass Effect are coming to the PS3, just like the 360 lost Bioshock 1 & 2.

Enjoy sitting through either extremely long download times and/or constant buffering. I can get a Blu-ray from Netflix, too. Big deal. Again, arguing which games are better or which movies to watch is totally subjective. My argument is that, price- and power-wise, the PS3 is superior.

I'm gonna have to agree with ps3>360... flame all u want... The only reason i'd ever want a 360 is for forza 2 and halo 3, otherwise most of their games dont interest me, or can be found on ps3... that and I hate their controllers..

I just wish ps3 didnt take away the ability to play the ps1 and 2 games, and that they'd have a memory card slot, for games that'd been saved on ps2

This shouldn't be a 360 vs. PS3 topic, it should only be on the 360's new dashboard.......

On the 360 tho, Loving the dashboard more and more everyday. And loading my games onto the drive is a great 1000x better. The disc drive is unbelievably loud. Once you play them from HDD, you'll realize how much quieter the system really is. Surprised that Micro didn't do this earlier.

Bungie doesn't want players to load the game onto the drive due to taking longer to load and such, but honestly, I have not noticed it taken longer at all. Only been faster!

One last thing, LIVE is extremely worth the cost, and if you shop enough can get it cheap as hell. My current sub cost me $42 for 13 months..... but just ordered another card from Amazon.com and got 13 months for $37!!!! Who the hell can't afford $2.87 a month for the best online (yet most successful gaming online/internet) service?

                    RyRy

Oh, and as for gaming: 360>Wii>PS3

                    as for sales: Wii>360>PS3

Putting PS3 last due to staying on the shelves for such a long ass time. No one wants to buy them. Only reason stock levels are going down is due to supply is going down for Sony coming out with yet another option. Thats the only way they can sell them is to change it enough for people to buy.

                    my $.02

one last thing and im done:

                        Taken from wiki:

"Xbox Live hit a milestone in July 2004,[7] when it achieved 1 million subscribers; and again in March 2007, when it achieved 6 million subscribers.[8] In August 2007, Xbox Live had over 7.1 million active users.[9] On November 15, 2007 Microsoft celebrated Xbox Live's 5th anniversary by offering its then over 8 million subscribers the title Carcassonne free of charge and awarding gamers who had subscribed to Live since its inception 500 free Microsoft Points. Due to intermittent service interruptions during late December 2007 and early January 2008, Microsoft promised to offer a free Xbox Live Arcade game to all Xbox Live users as compensation, concluding that, Marc Whitten has released an open letter to all Xbox Live members.[10] Increased demand from Xbox 360 purchasers (the largest number of new user sign-ups in the history of Xbox Live) was given as the reason for the downtime.[11] On January 18, 2008, Microsoft announced Undertow would be offered free for the week starting January 23 through January 27 as compensation.[12] The game was for both Silver and Gold users, so people who paid for their Xbox Live service got the same compensation as non payers.

Xbox Live has since passed the 10 million member mark for Gold and Silver subscribers. This occurred 6 months earlier than Microsoft originally anticipated.[13] On May 14, 2008 Microsoft announced 12 million members.[14]"

"PlayStation Network, often abbreviated to PSN within the gaming community, is a free online multiplayer gaming and digital media delivery service provided by Sony Computer Entertainment for use with the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable video game consoles,[2] as well as PlayStation.com. As of November 17, 2008, there are 14 million active registered PlayStation Network accounts worldwide, with users having made 273 million downloads.[3]"

And then there is the Wii with Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. Like the PS3, both Wii and DS systems can connect and play for free through games that support it. So technically, the Wii wins for most "subscribers" (no registration or subscription required, just plug and play) as they all include individual counsel codes that can connect any time (26+ million counsels sold world wide) and the DS (85+ million sold).
