Yeah or get rid of the TBI? A 350 TBI is just a 350..with TBI.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

the 350 tbis have a different intake mani bolt patern and the also have clip in oil cooler lines... Any sbc edelbrock IM will not bolt on, need to redrill one or the other, not worth it. And there is no way to fix the leaky oil cooler lines on these tbi motors... new ones leak right away. so its either get new heads and still have oil leaking under the hood, or buy a whole motor...

Yes, it was in the for sale section, i bought it off bader in the fall...

And yes, im lowering a 4wd... i can not stand the look of these shortys lifted. Plus i do not want a lifted truck. and i still want 4wd for icy roads in the winter.

The cam in the tbi also doesn't work too well with carbs, not enough vacuum at idle. You can always get the Edelbrock mpfi and spend a crapload of $ for alittle bit of hp and throttle response but most people ( except myself) know better and get rid of the clunker. Harwood let me know on parts that you won't be using, body, engine anything really. I can always use spare parts.

its driving now as my daily... It only has 130k on it... til its fixed, about a month, parts are on the way then they gotta go to hawley for paint. I got all the parts through my work for good prices and will be installing most of it there. Its not too smashed up, just the left front is a lil hit. It looks just like that truck minus the height, and headlight covers.

til it is completely finished?? are any of our cars ever complete? lol

That is not true! My little brother has a 92 chevy 1500 and we dropped in a jegs crate motor but we have the exhaust all done. We also have an Edelbrock performer intake, mild cam and some induction stuff. Sure you cant do alot of stuff to them but as long as you keep the ecu happy with the cam selection then you should be ok. As for the leaky oil cooler lines.......buy the adapter that doesnt need the lines. O well.....you do as you want im not bashing your ideas just thought i would drop my .02. 🙂

Torque is how far you take the wall with you

I still wonder about lowered 4wd's but, in a sense, that's what a Silverado SS is.

The only thing I disagree on is the step bars but looks like a fun project so far. Too bad 99-02 step bars don't fit otherwise I'd give you my old set.
