MTV 2 was the dedicated music video channel for about a week, then they started with shows like Jackass and Punk'd. WTF!?!?!?!!??

They need to bring back "Headbangers Ball". Thats the only way I'd watch MTV again.

HB actually played that video once upon a time. Drumming like that was ground breaking back in the day.

Dawn Patrol was where it's at. That's where I got all my music from when I was in middle school.

                    MTV pioneered music videos.

                    Video killed the radio star.

                    Then MTV killed the video.

                    Now what?

It's pathetic how many celebrities (and even wannabe celebrities) have had a "looking for love" show on mtv or vh1. Damn Flavor Flav started some bullshit. At least shows like Surreal Life were somewhat funny. Not every day you see a drunk, naked Vern Troyer pissing into the corner off the side of his motorized cart.

Isn't Mtv kind of responsible for creating the reailty tv genre? I can't think of any show right off hand that had a reality theme before The Real World came out. I still find it funny how a show called The REAL World can seem so fake, it's like a soap opera with people they pulled off the street.
Headbangers Ball is still on but the schedule is pretty random and there all reruns. I do remember watching Mtv X once while on vacation out to Seattle, nothing but hard rock and metal videos 24/7, it was pretty kick ass.

And speaking of celebrities on reality shows. Who's going to check out Steve-o on "Dancing With The Stars" tonight? I think it would be quite interesting to see.

                          Cyril Figgis: Call girl!
Sterling Archer: No Cyril! When they're dead they're just hookers!
