Evo Crashers New Pics.

So far, that is the plan.

Well, I got the head back last week. Headgames did a really good job. Ill pull the pictures off in a few and post them up.
as of last week my (i believe) my pistons and rods are in, so we are just waiting for my block to get back from machining so we put everything else together.
I dont remember if i said this or not, but i am going to be using the factory crank.
Also my wheels will be here tomorrow, and i should be getting my new diff in soon.
-
Yea, they were nice for a while. But i wanted something a little different.
-
Here are a few pics of the head. It doesnt do any justice, but its very nice.
but yea, phone pics.

And the wheels.
17x9 MB motoring weapon (a-tech) +27 offset.
tires are 255/40/17 Dunlop Direzza Z1 StarSpec.

30% over the flow rate.
As far as factory flow rate, i dont know the numbers.
and im too busy to hit up google.
The car was started and running this after noon. I got the call that it was running and was able to hear it in the back ground. Ive got a few vacuum leaks to fix when i get there and then it goes on the dyno right after for a break in tune.

Are they not capable or are you trying to save $10 on labor??
Congratualations tho, looks great, can't wait to see what it makes. Should be fun.

Sorta. the vacuum leak is from my crap ass samco diverter valve. so i have an MR diverter sitting with my old uicp at the house. I just have to put it on temporarily untill i get my synapse/synchronic.
Thanks man, im very excited too. this will be very interesting once finished.

What did it cost for the port job?
30% over factory doesn't tell anyone anything....
where does it flow 30% more at? across the board? only at extremely high lift??..... at low lift???

I certainly hope they had that head on a flow bench to claim 30% increase on the flow rate of the head vs. stock. Did they actually send you a flow test sheet? Same thing as a dyno sheet proving the hp and I would never believe any claims till I seen that. Believe it or not, It is rather easy to port and polish a cylinder head providing you have proper tools and the time to so so. (especially aluminum ones) The trick is getting every port to flow equally. Ask me how I know. I've fucked up a few sets of heads over the years learning how to port heads. I'm no pro mind you but What I previously mentioned, I know. I am in no way doubting the work of who you had do the work. I'm sure the work was top notch. I just believe in seeing #'s to back up claims.
And no, dont ask me to port any cylinder heads. Fuck that!! Aint worth my time for the amount of $$ involved and I have no way of putting a guarantee on my work.

haha, i was vague in my description for a reason. Not trying to come off as a dick, but i cant really explain what i had done....because im not allowed to lol.
but it was not the tradition port/polish with valve job, it was all cnc work. As for a price, you will have to call Nick @ dtm. i supplied my own valve train so it affected the price quite a bit.

and i fully agree with what you stated. I guess i shouldnt have said 30%, because I am not sure. (flame suit on and ready)
All the descussion about what was getting done was decided between Nick and Dave @ headgames. I was just relayed the message.
anyways, i got to the shop....what a night.
My jmfab uicp would NOT go back on, so we had to cut it, and use an L-shaped piece of silicon to fix that.
then the car wouldnt idle or stay running. we had the front o2 foul out, followed by all 4 spark plugs. but that still wouldnt run right. so after a few more boost leak checks, my throttle body shaft seals we SHOT. leaking out after only after persurized 10 psi!!!
so we put new shaft seals in, and it STILL would run right. it was way better, but still at -15.8 stft. we tried using a adjustable cam gear to retard the timing a little on the exhaust cam, no luck what so ever. Turns out the cams were too agressive for the stock ecu. If i would have had AEM we would have been golden, but i dont need it for a semi daily driven track car.
we put the stock cams back in the car, and im going to break in on those. when my next set of new cams comes in, ill hopefully be able to make some power.

LOL, are you kidding me??.... ewwww what secrets are you going to give away??....... how their CNC program is written??
Obviously for them to claim 30% there had to be full runner and combustion chamber work.........
Even the top head guys like WCCH eagerly post flow #'s and pictures of their work..... just to show that the money you are spending is legit, and you are getting quality work.....
So if they didn't send a flow sheet, and you are just going by them stating "30% more than stock" then i feel sorry for you..........
#'s dont lie.... post them up or BS

I thought he was 100% correct in his post.
I said "30% over stock" by going with JUST what i was told. I personally, have nothing to prove it. Nick might, Dave probably does, but im not going to go that far out of my way for a forum board memebers satifaction.
