Are these guys for real?

was browsing this site today looking for S15's and came across this shop in Miami. They say that a US title and full registration comes with the car but are they registering them as 240's?

what do you guys think?

They are probably registering them as kit cars (they ship the motor and chassis separate and assemble them in the US). Not that uncommon, you can probably find a fair share of R32-R34 skylines from them as well.

I would love to have an S15 but i would want to own one legally. I dont want the cops to crush the car if I ever got pulled over.I dont think the cops around here would be like that... but i could be mistaken... A lot of ppl do it with crxs, civics, etc... register them like a normal crx, civic and stuff... bring them down from canada and they go to states that are leinient on emissions, etc... Kind of a grey area... not exactly illegal persay, but not 100% legal either.. at least this is what i've understood...

Sweet car. I want an FTO though, there definitely different than the norm.

This has been going on for quite a few years in Florida. I would NOT do it. The DOT got some records of people that bought skylines this way and tracked them down(no matter how many times it had been bought and sold with a title since original titling) to take them without questions. I know like 2 years ago, they had taken 40 some cars total. Be cautious.
$15k isn't a bad price tho.

Me and Tony have spend many many hours talking and researching how to get skylines into the US and have titles.
We had a couple ideas of what would work. But, in the end it either would cost large $$$ to start, or require you not to care about the money u spend on the car or if it gets taken.

the guy in Minot with the R33 is legit. He has a title with the VIN and the title states "Nissan Other" under the model. Most R33's here in the states are legal. its the r32's and 34's that are not. Motorx started cutting corners on the r32 and 34 and thats where they got in trouble. but all the r33's where done right.

R33's are the HARDEST to make legal(dual airbags are required after 96, as well as OBDII). The US is ONLY allowing 96-98 R33's be imported because of Motorex's lies. Those are the hardest to convert legally, and you have to buy the rights to the crash testing from the owner of Motorex for somewhere in the $100k range. Motorex sub contracted with a company out east to do 90% or more of the conversion, but they aren't allowed to continue since the crash testing was a trade secret. Motorex lied about the models of Skylines, saying 89-99 were all the same model so they didn't have to crash test a bunch of cars.

But they didn't get it in a legal way, therefore its illegal. Like I said, the Florida loophole has been around for quite some time now, and people HAVE had their car seized, even if they bought 3 people later down the line from the importer. Are there people that still have their "legally" imported JDM cars? Sure, but like Faber said, you pretty much have to not worry about the money you blow on the car because it could be gone when you wake up in the morning without question.

^I talked to him at last years show. He said that the State of ND gave him a fully legalized title.Yes, but my point is, just because it has a title, doesn't mean its LEGAL! We once thought that was the case, which is why the Florida thing used to be huge. You could get a title in Florida, and it'd be automatically legal in every other state. That is NOT true!!!! It's not the ND officials you have to be concerned with, it's the DOT in general. Again, have people gotten away with it? YES! My point is do not do it unless you can basically wipe your ass with the money you spent on the car.
If you want to do it, do it. I'm just trying to share with you my personal research over about a 5 year span. I don't know how many stories I've read about people having their cars seized without warning and without any questions. IMO, it's just not worth it. Wait until next year and legally import an 85 Skyline, through an RB26 head on it, and have an RB30DETT with RB26 part support...

thats why i would only inport a car with it's equal here in the states.
as with my crx, you could import a crx and register it just fine as there was one made here.
but not until they get this shit worked out would i risk it.
