Bingo, Wes beat me to it. This SHO I don't think falls into any existing "performance" category. You know what it reminds me of, the Galaxie 500. Its huge, powerful, and able to terrorize a stoplight or two. Plus V6 fuel economy, I want one.

That has got to be some the most arrogant elitist shit I've heard in a long time. I guess if it's not a BMW or any other German car, it isn't shit.

Base Price: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO: $37,995

I think the point is, it might be a sweet car, but damn, when you start talking low 40's, you get in to a whole other range of cars. Not just german cars, Japanese cars too.

^^ you don't have alot to say about reliability. euro cars are not known for being all that reliable. also i'm sure the ford costs as much to replace the same parts as the bmw.

              it's all relivent you know.

And ford is known for their reliability?

A taurus is one of the last cars i'd want for reliablity... and lets see... BMW or a Taurus for the same money... definately take a BMW, lot nicer cars...

My point is that at least one of the Big 3 somewhat gets it. And, what is wrong with wanting to broaden your horizons which is what I see Ford is trying to do. Do I think its worth the price tag? No, I dont. But thats not why I posted this in the first place. I know full well that the Taurus hasnt been known for reiability but look at their failure rate vs. how many cars are actually on the road and I know that few of the Euro cars can boast as good of a ratio here stateside. You see a lot more of the Taurus' in the shop because there are fuckloads more Taurus' sold in America than many any other cars. Im not a big blue oval fan by nature but I am impressed that they actually built it.

^ i understand ur point, and it is neat they are making it and trying to make a decent car... but i still dont think it'll make a whole lot off difference in their sales vs "import" cars...

Brandon. Look at their sales. They are not too far off ANYBODY and are outselling Chrysler and GM pretty handily.

Anyone think Ford might pull some quality cues from some of the other brands like Jaguar? I'm not an american car fan by any means, but i'll give them props for trying something new. This is something that is going to appeal to people who are teetering on the edge of wanting to buy american but wind up going with something like an audi, etc.

It already looks a lil bit like they have. Seeing as how they own Jaguar, it would only make sense.

Huge point, I'm not a Ford guy at all but they are not that bad. There is always something I could pick apart on any Ford car and most trucks that would keep me from buying but none for reliability issues, but their styling is getting better. I'd buy an 89 super chicken if they weren't so damn heavy.

Overview Warranty Maintenance Optional Programs Service & Warranty Books

We design extraordinary cars. It only seems right to offer a service plan to match.
Only BMW offers a comprehensive suite of premium vehicle maintenance services for absolutely no cost: buy a BMW now and pay no maintenance costs for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Featuring the following services, BMW Ultimate Service™ lives up to its name:
New Vehicle/SAV Limited Warranty: This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for the first four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, so you can rest assured your BMW will perform as expected.
BMW Maintenance Program: One of the most comprehensive maintenance programs in its class, covering all factory-recommended maintenance services during the New Vehicle/SAV Limited Warranty Coverage Period, as well as specific items that require replacement due to normal wear and tear, such as brake pads, brake discs and wiper blade inserts.
Four years of the BMW Assist™ Safety Plan: Many 2007 and later models include a four-year, unlimited mileage subscription to the BMW Assist trade; Safety Plan including TeleService, an exclusive BMW benefit which allows your vehicle to contact your BMW center directly when it needs service or maintenance.
Unlimited-Mileage Roadside Assistance: Receive Roadside Assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the first four years of ownership, without any mileage limitation.
No other premium automaker provides such comprehensive benefits for absolutely no cost. So while other car owners will incur from several hundred to over one thousand dollars of maintenance or repair costs during the first 4 years they own their vehicles, you pay nothing for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles.

After all, an Ultimate Driving Machine® - and its driver - deserve nothing less than BMW Ultimate Service™.

I have a 2007 BMW 335i.... I havent paid a cent for ANYTHING. Oil, wipers, brake pads. ALL free.

Must I say more??? The ford taurus is an inferior car to allllll Sports sedans in this segments. Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, audi.... they all leave ford in the dust. Bottom line. a 44 thousand dollar ford "Sports sedan" is a fail. Note to Ford: You're not a Luxury brand, thats what lincoln is for.. Utilize it.
