            It's really awesome the way they design them to crush in the front like that and absorb all that energy, instead of like in the 59 where the whole engine compartment and firewall just pushes back and kills you. Cars destroyed either way but you survive with minor injuries instead of dying instantly. Automotive safety engineering has come a long way for sure.

              unibody vs frame car..... they had to do a test to see what car you would be safer in? waste of two cars...

                  It's cool video and all but I have to agree with Parker on this one, what a waste. Especially the '59.
                  Why not Ford or Dodge vehicles? Maybe it's just me, but it kind of comes off as a sales pitch for Chevy as well, safety being the major selling point here, of course.

                    I think the idea was that the new malibu is a direct descendant of the old bel air (where they fit in the product line anyway) so it was a then vs. now video comparison and really had nothing to do with brands.

                      If they had used anything else it would just look like a sales pitch for them and you'ld be wondering "Why use X's cars? Why not use Chevy?"

                        Wrong. The Impala is the descendant of the bel air.
