This is the car I use for winter. Its an old Audi V8, auto, awd, etc.
Just doing some work on the interior right now, as the old headliner was falling, and the interior is very nice, but ugly in my opinion.
Anyway, doing the headliner in Suede, and the pillars are already done in suede. Adding in more sound deadening in the roof and floorboards/tunnel area, and cleaning things really well. Probably redoing some sections of the seats' leather as a few holes/cracks have appeared in all the seats due to mistreatment by the PO. Working on merging the current gauge cluster with an Audi //S6's dash so I can get the silver trimmed rings and the white gauge faces and such... and searching for the //S6 sport wheel still.
Suspension will come when the interior is back together, I've got a new set of control arms, a number of bushings, a rear subframe to add in a sway bar (S4's had one, V8's didn't) camber plates, still waiting on Koni shocks/ 2Bennette springs, and was contemplating welding the subframes/door frames for a bit of added rigidity, because the car really could use some.

Spent about 2 hours sanding down that Fiberglass roof. Should be laying the headliner material soon.

One thing that made a HUGE difference on my B3 platform car was going to solid mounts in the CAs and subframes. 034motorsport has solid aluminum subframe mounts; putting these in took an incredible amount of slop out of the handling. They also had some nice CA bushings. Not sure what their D1/V8 parts are like but its worth a look, and if you don't see anything, the motorgeek.com forums are where the 034 guys hang out and you could certainly ask what they have / what adapts / what they can make for you.
the 3.6L V8 also takes nicely to turbo charging.. there are a couple of bi-turbo V8s with that motor running around the USA

Oh, I know, I've seen guys making crap-tons of power with turbos and with centri/roots blowers as well. Wish I could do something like that, but this car isn't a good candidate.
Not sure if you can go solid control arm bushings in my setup? The T44 has a lame front suspension design, and the control arm/swaybar are the only lower mounting structure. its very... odd. to say the least.
I'm on MG often, though. I'll check out 034's stuff again, see if I missed anything.

Also, the motor is all aluminum (audiworld is wrong) and high silicon content block (~15%) which allowed them to acid-treat the cylinder walls, making most of the exposed wall silicon, and incredibly tough/durable, and some motors themselves run past 300k, the rest of the car, another story...
