I will make it perfectly clear and take pictures of my observations when I have time. I am free to make any comments I please about the manifold. Its not bad by any means, but there are things that bother me. If you are so experienced building 50+ manifolds like you said, I would have expected you to know better. Again im a fool for making such assumptions.

And just so everybody knows my 100% out of pocket cost for this:
      Manifold Material Payment: $258
Gas to and From Fargo: $65
Bus tickets to and from Fargo: $90
      Head Flange:100
      Waste Gate flange: $25
Payment to Max for getting the manifold to me: $100 (this is my choice of course and can be omitted based on individual opinion)
      Shipping costs: $40
      Head flange resurfacing: $25

      Total:$603

Yes, still a bargain for a manifold but MY cost of this product is much more than $250
I am omitting all the other complications that his lateness has caused me which also include, but not limited, to loss of money.

So gas to and from fargo?? wtf do you need to take a bus then for? kinda sounds like you like to bitch over little things...

I agree Joe, I understand why Max (xracer) was upset that it wasn't done in the time quoted, but really the only "costs" that should really be included on there are:

        Manifold Material Payment: $258
        Head Flange:$100
        Waste Gate flange: $25
        Head flange resurfacing: $25

        for a total of $398...

The other stuff he was going to be paying for anyway.

Auto Starts from $200 Installed! Lifetime warranty.

dont forget the cost of tire wear, cost of bringing your mileage closer to an oil change, brake pad wear, the 500 less miles youre going to get out of your air filter, and im assuming you probably got some type of beverage either on the way here or back?

bottom line is you paid a price that was WAY under what you should have paid for a great product. this was a PROTOTYPE manifold. you paid less because he needed a mock up car for a jig. DO NOT EXPECT A FUCKING PERFECT MANIFOLD when this is the first one hes made. i think its pretty impressive that a one man business got that job done in 4 weeks when he still needs to be doing other things to keep his business afloat.

he definitely shouldn't have quoted 2 weeks for it but you also shouldn't be getting so butt hurt over it. poor business practice is one thing but i think you're intelligent enough to understand that the reason there is a 1000 difference in price is to compensate for any kinds of issues being as this is a prototype manifold. he didn't give you a price break because he likes you or he was feeling like a nice guy, its because issues and a little longer wait are to be expected. jeebus if everyone got as worked up as you every time things didn't go their way...
instead of swinging your e-dick on every forum you can find, grow up and relax.

Don't quote a timeframe if you have no clue how long it's going to take. Again, poor business ethics.

Took him 4 weeks have half ass work? If he'd actually work on a customer's product instead of sitting on the interwebz, shit would get done and this thread wouldn't be 7 pages long.

did you read what i said? i agreed that he shouldn't have quoted him that time but 4 weeks is not long for a manifold. full race asks for 4 weeks to ship a manifold on cars they've been doing for years. and thats without mock up and making a jig for it. have you ever made a manifold? have you ever fabricated anything? things go smoother the second time around. thus the reason for THE DISCOUNTED PRICE. this is not half-ass work. this is a first time prototype manifold that hasn't gotten tweaked yet.

being a one man business how is he supposed to promote himself and DEFEND himself if he doesn't spend time on the internet? you seem to be the one with all the answers so...

I'm not going to lie, I think everyone got the point pages back. I agree with the one off having minor imperfections, hence the price break. What I saw in the shop would look good on any car... If it had to have minor warping fixed, he is still way under what a production manifold would cost. I'd imagine any warping would be fixed by Matt before a final manifold would go to a customer, but being he was rushed to finish (again nobody to blame but himself), I can see how he just wanted this to get behind him.

There has been enough attention to MDG about his time frames, now give him a chance to redeem himself....and if the next person runs into the same issue, then it will present itself.

"Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me."

                  Leave the guy alone.

So Matt want to give me the same deal on a manifold for my supra? It could take you until February for all I care. And I will cover materials cost up front.

you couldve just not said that^^^^ and it wouldve been dead, no one said anything for two days besides Joel, and it didnt have to do with anything.

the thread was pretty much dead anyway

so your comment is a fail.
